Andrew Lippa
Broadway Composer Andrew Lippa comes to RMTC!
Andrew Lippa’s distinguished career includes winning the 2000 Drama Desk Award for best music for The Wild Party (book/music/lyrics) which also won the Outer Critics Circle Award for best Off-Broadway musical of the season. In 1999 he contributed three new songs and created all new arrangements for the Broadway version of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (including “My New Philosophy” for Tony-Award Winner Kristin Chenoweth).
Andrew Lippa’s recordings include The Wild Party (RCA Victor) which he also produced, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (RCA Victor) which earned him a Grammy Award nomination and john & jen (Fynsworth Alley), which he associate produced.
He wrote the music for the world premiere of Aaron Sorkin’s (The West Wing, A Few Good Men) new play The Farnsworth Invention and is currently penning the music and lyrics for a new musical based on Jules Feiffer’s The Man In The Ceiling produced by Disney Theatrical.

Welcome back Priscilla Hancock Cooper, author of last season’s smash-hit Back to the Dream, as she presents the newly staged version of her one-woman show, Call Me Black Woman, based on original selections from her acclaimed collection of poetry. In collaboration with director and choreographer Jacqueline Crenshaw-Lockhart, Call Me Black Woman is a contemporary look at the classic questions of identity. Blending themes of love, loss and independence, Call Me Black Woman is a poignant examination of women's issues, African-American heritage and the complexities of male/female relationships. Featuring Ms. Hancock Cooper, this popular and powerful show will leave you with renewed respect and inspired hope.
