Education
Education is an integral part of the Red Mountain Theatre Company vision.
RMTC’s Youth Programs are designed to educate, train and polish the performing arts skills of youth ranging from age 9-18 through a variety of avenues. RMTC offers area youth the chance to perform throughout the state with its three performing groups: Previews (ages 9-12), Spotlights (ages 11-15) and the RMTC Performing Ensemble (ages 13-18).
Students who wish to be a part of the RMTC Youth Programs must audition for the position as well as attend the RMTC Youth Musical Theatre Workshop, one of the premiere musical theatre workshops in America. Red Mountain Theatre Company not only encourages a remarkable education through professional instruction, but we also offer students special opportunities to participate in Master Classes as well as Observerships with professional performers. These opportunities are a vital way to enhance an appreciation of the arts and motivate community outreach possibilities.
Our Outreach program is in collaboration with Birmingham Public Schools in an effort to provide their students with a live theatre performance in their own schools.
