Local Author's One-Woman Show Comes to RMTC
Red Mountain Theatre Company (RMTC) continues its 07-08 Concert Series with Priscilla Hancock Cooper's Call Me Black Woman, April 4-5, 2008, at the RMTC Cabaret Theatre (301 19th Street North).
Author of last season's smash-hit Back to the Dream, Priscilla Hancock Cooper presents the newly staged version of her one-woman show, Call Me Black Woman, based on original selections from her acclaimed collection of poetry.
In collaboration with director and choreographer Jacqueline Crenshaw-Lockhart, Call Me Black Woman is a contemporary look at the classic questions of identity. Blending themes of love, loss and independence, Call Me Black Woman is a poignant examination of women's issues, African-American heritage and the complexities of male/female relationships.
Starring Ms. Hancock Cooper, this popular and powerful show is an intriguing mix of drama, poetry and music that will leave you with renewed respect and inspired hope. To learn more about Priscilla Hancock Cooper, click here.
