RMTC 2013 SUMMER WORKSHOPS
YOUTH MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP
June 3-14, 2013

Two full weeks of acting, singing and dancing! In this high-quality introduction to musical theatre workshop, students rotate between professional instructors and learn the ins and outs of musical theatre. Classes include Comedy and Improvisation, Broadway Style Audition Techniques, Solo Voice Performance, Hip Hop and Musical The
atre Dance. This workshop takes place at Berry Middle School and culminates with a Workshop Showcase at the Samford Wright Center on the afternoon/evening of June 14. If you have participated in the past two years, you are automatically accepted. FIRST TIME participants need to audition (either the fall or spring session) and should plan to attend Keith’s “Anatomy of an Audition” at the beginning of their audition session.

YOUTH ADVANCED WORKSHOP
June 3-21, 2013

This three-week workshop is tailor-made for the younger advanced student who is ready for intense instruction from dedicated professionals in the disciplines of singing, dancing and acting. This workshop takes place at Berry Middle School and Samford Wright Center, where they will perform at least one selection at the Workshop Showcase on June 14, and will also have a showcase on the evening of June 21. ALL STUDENTS MUST AUDITION for the Youth Advanced Workshop regardless of past participation with RMTC.
ADVANCED WORKSHOP
June 3-21, 2013

Students will have three weeks of instruction in voice, dance and acting from accomplished instructors. The Advanced Workshop participants will perform at least one selection at the Workshop Showcase on June 14, but will also have a showcase on the evening of June 21 at Samford Wright Center. This showcase will be attended by professionals from the theatrical industry as well as college representatives. ALL STUDENTS MUST AUDITION for the Advanced Workshop regardless of past participation with RMTC.
JUNIOR WORKSHOP
June 3-7 or June 10-14, 2013

The Junior Workshop is a perfect introduction to the world of musical theatre. The half day sessions offer dancing, singing and acting with some fun activities as well. The Junior Workshop takes place at Berry Middle School and culminates with a mini-showcase for parents and friends on the final Friday at Berry Middle School. NO AUDITION IS REQUIRED FOR THE JUNIOR WORKSHOP.

EXCEPTIONAL WORKSHOP
June 10-14, 2013
Monday-Friday, 12pm-4pm (half-day)
AGES 13+
Cost: $100
The one-week Exceptional Workshop is designed for those with special needs. Exceptional students must meet the qualifications set by the Exceptional Foundation of Alabama (for more information, visit http://www.exceptionalfoundation.org/programs/). NO AUDITION IS REQUIRED FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL WORKSHOP.
Beauty and the Beast Junior Workshop I
July 8-19, 2013

AGES 7-12
This workshop is for the student who is ready to perform in a junior version of a Broadway musical. A professional director, choreographer and music director head the production team and this workshop culminates with five performances of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Junior. Auditions for this workshop occur during the regular Youth Musical Theatre Workshop. Students must have attended the RMTC regular Youth Musical Theatre Workshop in June of 2013 to be eligible.

Beauty and the Beast Junior Workshop II

Broadway veterans Robin Lewis, Rufus Bonds and Tina Marie Cassamento, along with Birmingham favorites Dale Serrano, Don Everett Garrett, Juliet Brooks, Dewin Tibbs, Conner Milam, Lynne Marks and many more!!
Orientation
There will be a fun and informative Parent/Child Orientation at Berry Middle School on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 2:30 PM for those participating in the June workshops to meet their instructors, facilitators and classmates. Following orientation, there will be a brief Q&A about RMTC’s Youth Programs and audition process.
Registration and Payment Information
To receive a 10% discount on tuition, participants must turn in their completed registration forms and non-refundable deposit (listed below) by Monday, December 3.
A 5% discount will be given to participants who turn in their completed registration and non-refundable deposit by Friday, March 1.
Youth Musical Theatre Workshop - $100 deposit
Advanced/Youth Advanced Workshops - $200 deposit
