Ages 9-14

Blast Camps are fun, week-long camps in which students experience musical theatre performance. They build confidence by rehearsing a short script written specifically for RMT, and they perform at the end of the week in front of a supportive community of family and friends. In preparing for a performance, students learn discipline and memorization skills that they can take with them to their scholastic work.

This Week’s Script is Penny Lane.  Jude has to move to a brand new town with the oddest name – Penny Lane – and he is totally NOT into it.  When his parents force him to meet some of the towns interesting characters (a Barber, a Banker, a Fireman, and a Nurse), he learns that if he just gives them a chance, he can get by with a little help from his friends.  Penny Lane uses favorite Beatles hits in an original story.

This Week’s Script is Shake it Off. Calling all Swifties! This FEARLESS story weaves together the songs of pop sensation Taylor Swift. Start counting the MIDNIGHTS until this fun-filled camp begins, because we’re about to dance like it’s 1989. It’s sure to fill up quickly, so SPEAK NOW or forever hold your peace!
